Islamic State terrorists raid the Makhmour refugee camp
The jihadists of the Islamic State (IS) raided the Makhmour refugee camp, south of Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, on Sunday, clashing with the guards of the camp.
Abdullah Tahir, a Kurdistan Democratic Party’s (KDP) representative in the area, confirmed to BasNews that the guards of the refugee camp managed to repel the IS attack.
The incident occurred near the village of Azikandi, Tahir added.
At least one shepherd, a refugee at the camp, was wounded in the attack, he said.
According to the information BasNews has learned, two militants were also killed by the guards.
