Islamic State terrorists killed two Iraqi Shia militias and wounded three others near Khanaqin
Islamic State (IS) jihadists attacked the Iraqi Shia militias of Hashd al-Shaabi overnight on Monday near Khanaqin, killing at least two militiamen.
A source from Khanaqin hospital told BasNews that three other militiamen, injured in the attack, were admitted to the hospital.
BasNews has learned that a heavy fire exchange had occurred between the IS militants and the Shia militiamen.
Khanaqin, a Kurdish town falling in the areas disputed between Kurdistan Region and Iraqi government, is often challenged by the sleeper cells of IS.
