Islamic State terrorists killed tribal leader and injured his wife and brother in western Iraq
Islamic State (IS) militants overnight on Sunday carried out an attack on a village near Walid district of Anbar province, western Iraq, killing a tribal leader.
Iraq’s War Media Cell said in a statement that the jihadists first raided the village and kidnapped a citizen, which led to a fierce confrontation after the security forces arrived in the area.
Sheikh Talal Matar, the leader of Amous tribe in Anbar, was injured during the confrontation with the jihadists. He succumbed to his injuries later at the hospital.
His wife and brother are also wounded, the statement added.
