Islamic State terrorists killed tribal leader and his nephew near Mosul
The Islamic State (IS) militants attacked a village near Mosul overnight on Tuesday, killing a tribal leader and his nephew in an armed clash.
The fire exchange erupted when a group of insurgents entered the village of Azurij in southwest of Mosul and immediately opened fire at the residents.
Iraqi media said the villagers put up a defense line, but two men, one of whom is the leader of Albubardan tribe, were killed in the confrontation.
Reports said several other people were injured in the attack, but no more details were shared.
