Islamic State terrorists kidnapped four Iraqi soldiers south of Kirkuk
Islamic State (IS) militants on Monday kidnapped four Iraqi soldiers near Daquq district in south of Kirkuk, media reports said.
The abductees are reportedly members of Iraq’s military intelligence.
Iraqi federal police has launched a search operation in the area to find and rescue the abductees.
It comes amid a dramatic increase in the IS attacks on the Iraqi forces in the Kurdish provinces of Kirkuk, which is disputed between Erbil and Baghdad.
Overnight on Sunday, the IS jihadists carried out two simultaneous attacks on Iraqi federal police outside Daquq, killing one and injuring two.
Earlier today, one security personnel was killed and two others suffered injuries in a confrontation with the jihadists in Kirkuk.
