Islamic State terrorists attacked the Iraqi Army forces south of Kirkuk
The militants of the Islamic State (IS) conducted an attack on the Iraqi army in Jalawla, south of the disputed Kurdish province of Kirkuk.
The jihadists targeted the Iraqi army from three directions, after which additional national forces were deployed to the region to repel the insurgents, Kurdistan 24 cited its corespondent in the area.
According to the report, the two sides clashed near a highway between Kurdish city of Kalar and Jalawla, which led to the wounding of an Iraqi soldier.
No further details are currently available on more possible casualties among the national forces.
