Islamic State terrorists attack security checkpoint in Baghdad

Islamic State (IS) militants targeted a security checkpoint in north of Baghdad on Monday, media reports said. At least five civilians and security personnel were wounded in the attack.

It was not clear if the Iraqi forces engaged the jihadists or if there were any casualties among the IS militants. Seizing the current unrest in Iraq, IS has increased its terrorist attacks across the country.

They killed five soldiers in two separate attacks earlier this week in Diyala province. Several others were wounded in the attacks.
