Islamic State terrorists attack Iraqi police forces in Kirkuk
The jihadists of the Islamic State (IS) carried out an attack on the Iraqi federal police forces in the disputed Kurdish province of Kirkuk on Tuesday night.
A police source told Kurdistan 24 that the incident occurred near the village of Hatin located between Kirkuk and Dubiz at around 8:20 pm, Erbil time.
Clashes erupted between the federal police and militants, as a result of which two policemen were injured, the source explained.
The two were identified as Ali Adil and Ahmed Awad, who were taken to the hospital.
A manhunt operation was soon launched in search for the insurgents, but they had already escaped the scene.
