Islamic State terrorist group reportedly attacked Taliban positions in Jalalabad
A news agency linked to Islamic State militants says the group carried out bombing attacks against the Taliban in the eastern Afghan city of Jalalabad over the weekend.
The series of attacks hit the city on Saturday and Sunday, apparently targeting the Taliban.
Provincial government sources say the blasts killed at least three people and wounded 15 others, including Taliban fighters.
The Amaq news agency reported that its sources say multiple attacks carried out by the Islamic State group’s fighters killed and wounded 35 Taliban members.
The Islamic State group’s local affiliate has claimed responsibility for the August 26 suicide bombing near Kabul airport. The attack killed more than 100 people, including US troops.
