Islamic State terrorist confessions participated in destroying Mosul antiquities and bombing shrines ratified
Nineveh court investigating terrorism cases court has ratified the confessions of an ISIS member who was involved in destructing Mosul antiquities and appeared in a famous video published by the organization.
The Supreme Judicial Council said in a statement received by Shafaq News that “an ISIS terrorist member admitted before the Court of Investigation on his affiliation to ISIS after taking control on Mosul city and working in the Court of Hisba as a smashing antiquities worker.”
“The terrorist confessed on receiving orders with a group of members of the organization to bring smashing machines and go to Mosul Museum on the right side of the city, and then received an order to destroy all the assets and statues in the museum because they are idols,” the terrorist said.
He added that “the destruction took place in the presence of large numbers of members of the organization with cameras to photograph and document the process amid chanting ISIS slogans.”
“The third operation was the bombing of Prophet Jarjis mosque and the extraction of iron and other assets in it,” pointing that “they received a small amount of money to do these actions,” he said.
“He appeared in the famous video broadcast by the Islamic State terrorist organization after the destruction of the contents of the Mosul Museum,” the terrorist noted.
