Islamic State terrorist attack and seize Syrian military equipment in the Hama desert
The Syrian Observatory has monitored an attack by ISIS members on a gathering of regime forces in the eastern countryside of Ethraya. ISIS members were able to control the gathering of regime forces and seize vehicles and ammunition.
On the other hand, battles have been underway for 72 hours, between regime forces and loyalists on one side, and members of the Islamic State on the other, coinciding with intensive airstrikes by Russian fighter jets and regime helicopters, on several frontlines in the area of Ethraya and its surroundings in the al-Badia in eastern countryside of Hama, amid confirmed reports of casualties and loss of contact with dozens of regime soldiers and loyalists.
Syrian Observatory activists have monitored, earlier this morning, ongoing fierce clashes on several frontlines in the eastern countryside of Hama in the Syrian desert between regime forces and loyalists on one hand, and “Islamic State” on the other, as a part of ISIS attack on the area.
The clashes coincided with intensive attacks and bombardment, amid Russian jets’ participation in repelling the attack, while regime helicopters were seen yesterday striking the area.
The clashes were concentrated on the frontlines of Al-Rahjan, Al-Shakousiyyah and Athariyah in the far eastern countryside of Hama.
Meanwhile, SOHR activists have documented large number of fatalities on both sides in the intensive aerial and ground shelling and fierce clashes during the past 48 hours, as 21 regime soldiers and loyalists were killed, while ISIS lost 13 members. The death toll is expected to rise as several soldiers and members were injured, some seriously.
