Islamic State suicide attack failed in Nangarhar

National security officials say ISIS a suicide attack in the central city of Jalalabad, Nangarhar failed.

An ISIS member was arrested for transporting suicide vests and hand grenades from Behsud district into the city.

Amjad, known as Obaid, was apparently the driver of the rickshaw. He was arrested in the security checkpoint in the outskirts of Jalalabad.

Nangarhar national security source told BNA that ISIS planned to carry out a suicide attack on Jalalabad.

It is not yet clear whether ISIS intended to attack any office in Jalalabad.
