Islamic State snipers killed Iraqi police officer in Diyala

Diyala Police said on Sunday (September 26) that suspected Islamic State (ISIS) militants attacked two areas in Khanaqin district, killing a senior officer.

Diyala Police Spokesperson Nihad Mohammed told NRT that ISIS militants fired five mortar rounds near Qara Tapa district, which did not cause any casualties.

Mohammed said that in Miqdadiyah, snipers fired at an Iraqi army checkpoint and killed a senior officer and wounded another.
