Islamic State official arrested by the Iraqi authorities in Nineveh

Iraq’s Security Media Cell (SMC) said on Tuesday (April 19) federal intelligence and investigation forces arrested an Islamic State (ISIS) group official in Nineveh governorate.

SMC said the suspect was responsible for transferring money between Iraq and a neighboring country for ISIS militants.

The man confessed to planning to carry out armed attacks against security forces and civilians in Nineveh during the month of Ramadan, according to SMC.
