Islamic State members arrested in Bosnia – is Bosnia next target for terror attack?!
The State Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina on Tuesday set detention for Bosnian citizen Mehmed Tutmic, who is indicted for having taken part in terrorist activities and who was arrested last week after being on the run for a longer period of time.
The court sustained the motion by the Bosnian State Prosecutor’s Office which insisted on detention due to the gravity of the crimes Tutmic is accused of and because he was at large for nearly a year and a half.
Tutmic can be held in custody for up to two years.
The 58-year-old was arrested in the Zenica area, armed with a machine-gun.
He fought in Syria, where he was seriously wounded, from July 2013 to August 2014. He was arrested in an anti-terror operation in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2014 and escaped after being released pending trial.
