Islamic State leader arrested in Halabja
Kurdish Security Forces arrested an Islamic State (ISIS) leader on Monday (December 13), the Special Operation Joint Task Force-Levant said.
The coalition said the arrest “will disrupt the transportation of terrorists in the Kurdistan Region.”
The Peshmerga Ministry released a statement on Monday and said that Peshmerga Minister Shorsh Ismail met with General Ducich, head of the Coalition’s High Advisory Team in Iraq and the Region, and his accompanying delegation.
“We continue to confront ISIS terrorists, in coordination with the Iraqi army and the continued support of coalition forces,” the statement said.
The coalition statement also noted they will try to carry out more operations with the Iraqi army.
“We are pleased to see that the Peshmerga forces are progressing and strengthening step by step, and we, as the US forces in Iraq and the region, will continue to provide military and logistical support to the Peshmerga Ministry in confronting ISIS terrorists,” Ducich said, according to the statement.
