Islamic State cells target civilian home in eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside

Reliable sources have informed SOHR that cells affiliated with the Islamic State have recently increased their activities, demanding “zakat” from people living in the city of Al-Busayrah in the eastern countryside of Deir al-Zour, by sending threatening messages to civilians in the region through the application “WhatsApp”.

In this context, ISIS cells targeted the house of a civilian with a sound bomb, this evening, a displaced person living in al-Busayrah city in the eastern countryside of Deir al-Zour, and owns a shop selling car accessories, after ISIS cells demanded him earlier pay “zakat”. The attack left no casualties.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has obtained a copy of a text message sent by ISIS cells to a doctor in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, asking him to pay “zakat”. The text message reads “All praise is due to Allah, the lord of the worlds, let there no hostility except to those oppressors and peace be upon who has been sent as a mercy to the worlds.

The Almighty says: {And never think that Allah is unaware of what the wrongdoers do. He only delays them for a day when eyes will stare in horror.}

Accordingly, we are the God’s believers, working to collect some of the capital from those behind on Allah’s canons, such as blasphemy, and not to fulfill the most obligatory duties in Islam after prayer, which is zakat, after the fierce campaign against the Islamic State by the nations, and people tolerated in matters of their religion regarding rituals and canons that they were committed to in the days of empowerment.

We are working for Allah Almighty, but you, the servants of the dirham and the dinar, your one concern is raise money, but as for the establishment of religion and the commitment to its laws you have betrayed God and his Messenger.

We ask you to prepare a sum of money voluntarily and kindly and it will be a small amount compared to the profits you make, and we will treat you generously and be grateful to you.

But if you refuse and communicate with the infidels, you should know that your movements are under surveillance and the brothers are ready to reach you and kill you, whether with an IED, a weapon with a silencer, or even kidnapped you after you have not responded to this message.

And it may leads even to displacement and abuse, so your money won’t avail you after that. You have the choice to think carefully before you make any wrong move, and swear to Allah, the brothers will blow you up and your car. And Allah is predominant to his affair, but most of the people do not know.”
