Islamic State attacks Iraqi Border Police and kills one officer

Islamic State (IS) jihadists early morning on Tuesday carried out an attack on an outpost of the Iraqi border police near the Syrian border.

According to media reports, at least one Iraqi officer was killed during a heavy fire exchange.

Security sources have claimed that the Islamic State jihadists came from Syria and crossed the border back to the neighboring country after the attack.

It was not clear if any damage or casualties were inflicted on Islamic State.
