Islamic Jihad Terrorists Discuss Transporting Weapons in Baby Stroller, Recorded Audio Appears to Show
In an audio recording released Thursday that Israeli intelligence officials say was from intercepted radio chatter, two men identified as terrorists from the Palestinian Islamic Jihad group can be heard discussing how they will transport weapons using a baby stroller.
“So that he can move with [the anti-tank missiles], he needs to bring a stroller, a baby stroller,” one of the operatives appears to say in the recording posted by the Israel Defense Forces.
The two terrorists are also heard speaking about plans to meet up with the weaponry during evening prayer observances, the recording appears to show.
The IDF released the recording alongside video showing Israeli troops searching what the military said was a Hamas terrorist’s home in Gaza’s Beit Hanun and finding a compartment with several rockets underneath a child’s bed.
Palestinian Islamic Jihad, an Iran-backed Sunni Islamist paramilitary group, operates out of the Gaza Strip. The organization has assisted Hamas in its ongoing war against Israel following Hamas’ Oct. 7 attacks.
Hamas has been known to conceal its operations within civilian infrastructure, using unsuspecting places to conceal themselves from Israeli attacks.
The ongoing war broke out after Hamas’ surprise massacre left 1,200 people dead and more than 200 held as hostages last month.
Since then, the Hamas-run Health Ministry in Gaza has said more than 11,000 people have been killed in Israeli attacks, as the IDF carries out a mix of airstrikes and ground operations.
The United Nations’ chief on human rights last week accused both Hamas and Israel of committing war crimes.
