ISIS’s emir escapes to SDF-held regions in Deir Ezzur
Wasel Dabas al-Haroun, one of the most notorious commanders of ISIS, has escaped from the battlefields towards the regions that are controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) after his troops came under attack by the Syrian Army troops in Deir Ezzur province, local sources said Friday.
The sources said that Wasel Dabas al-Haroun, a notorious emir of the ISIS in the town of al-Qouriyeh, escaped the town towards SDF-held regions, following the army’s devastating advances in Deir Ezzur province.
A large number of ISIS commanders had previously did the same.
The sources said that the army is simultaneously advancing in two different fronts towards the strategic ISIS-held town of Albu Kamal at border with Iraq.
Relevant reports said on Thursday that the Syrian Air Force targeted the ISIS positions in Eastern Deir Ezzur, blowing up the terrorists’ base during military operations to reach their last bastion at borders with Iraq.
The Syrian bombers pounded the ISIL positions near al-Sawi’eiyeh bridge in Albu Kamal near the borders with Iraq on Thursday, smashing the ISIL base special to keeping the bomb-laden vehicles and killing all terrorists inside them.
Meantime, the Syrian fighter jets launched heavy strikes on ISIL positions in Badiyeh al-Sukhnah and areas near Humeimeh in Eastern Homs, inflicting heavy damage and casualties on the militants.
