ISIS-planned attack on Real Madrid players and fans foiled

The Islamic State terrorist organization planned a shooting attack on Real Madrid fans and players, the newspaper ‘El Confidencial’ revealed on Monday.

The attack, planned on Santiago Bernabeu, was thwarted by the FBI, Europol, and the Spanish Civil Guard.

Nine people from an ISIS cell were arrested in the joint operation by the FBI and Europol, including residents from Girona, Cadiz, and Almeria.

The plan reportedly included shooting the team bus of Real Madrid players when it arrived at the stadium.
