“We have seen instances of Daesh’s [Islamic State/ISIS] use of commercial-off-the-shelf unmanned aerial systems to observe Coalition and ISF activity as well as attempt to deliver explosive devices,” the mission stated.
The mission underscored that the coalition is increasing force protection measures against drones used by Daesh terrorists. “The Coalition takes this threat seriously and is implementing increased force protection measures and improved UAS [Unmanned Aerial Systems] counter-measures to protect Coalition forces and our partners on the ground to ensure that they are protected from the full spectrum of threats in the operating environment,” the press office said. The US-led coalition against Daesh is increasing force protection measures against drones that terrorists use to carry out attacks, the mission told Sputnik on Wednesday.
