6 ISIS militants killed in air strike in Iraq
Six members of the ISIS terrorist organization were killed as a result of a strike by the Iraqi Air Force that targeted a site near the Hamrin Mountains in Salah al-Din governorate, north of the capital, Baghdad, according to the Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS) in Iraq.
In a statement on Saturday, the CTS said that “Under the guidance of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and in collaboration with the Federal Intelligence and Investigations Agency in the Ministry of Interior along with the heroes of the Iraqi Air Force, the CTS was able to strike the enemy’s hostels near the Hamrin Mountains after an intelligence investigation and careful monitoring.”
The statement added, “Duty resulted in the killing of six ISIS elements, including the so-called Abu Maryam al-Qahtani, the general administrator of Salah al-Din governorate, who was supervising assassinations and kidnappings of citizens and security forces by setting up fake control points near the areas surrounding the Hamrin Mountains.”
