ISIS fails again to prevail over Syrian Army positions in Eastern Homs
The Syrian Army forces engaged in fierce clashes with ISIS terrorists in Eastern Homs and repelled the terrorists’ second large-scale offensive in the last 24 hours.
The army units engaged in a bloody battle with ISIS terrorist group which attacked military posts in the village of Maksar al-Husan in Eastern Homs and fended off their heavy attack.
Over 25 Takfiri terrorists were killed in the clashes and tens of others were wounded, while the remaining pockets of the militants fled the battlefield, leaving their arms and ammunition behind.
The army also managed to destroy at least 5 military vehicles in terrorists’ assault.
Another ISIS attack from the village of Manoukh towards the army positions in Tuloul al-Tafha in the Southern side of Jubb al-Jarrah town in Eastern Homs was also repulsed by the army soldiers, killing at least 10 Takfiri militants, and destroying the weapons and ammunition.
Relevant reports said on Saturday that the army troops continued the march on ISIS territories in Eastern Homs and deployed in new positions only 10km away from the town of al-Sukhnah, the last main stronghold of the terrorist group before Deir Ezzur.
After imposing control over the strategic region of Jubab Hamd in Eastern Homs, the army men continued to hit ISIL’s defense lines and captured the key al-Alaam region East of the village of Mosheirefeh al-Qarbiyeh that overlooks ISIS’s positions in Um al-Saharij and al-Mosheirefeh al-Janoubi in al-Shoumeriyeh mountain.
In the meantime, the army repelled ISIS’s repeated attacks to take back Jubab Hamd.
Following the recent advances of the army soldiers in Eastern Homs, the pro-government forces are now only 10km away from al-Sukhnah that is the last main stronghold of ISIS in Eastern Homs and the gate to Deir Ezzur province.
