ISIS ambushes Iraqi police convoy in Kirkuk and kills two policemen

Islamic State (IS) militants ambushed a convoy of the Iraqi federal police in the early hours on Thursday in Kirkuk province, killing at least two policemen.

The ambush was set up near Tel Sousa village of Hawija district, some 55 kilometers southwest of Kirkuk.

The police forces engaged the jihadists who killed two policemen, a source said.

It was the second IS attack against the Iraqi forces in less than 24 hours in Kirkuk province.

The first attack left four Iraqi forces dead.
