Iraqi security forces arrest two Islamic State terrorist in Mosul
Iraq’s Security Media Cell reported, on Saturday, that two ISIS fighters are arrested in the city of Mosul, Nineveh Governorate.
The Cell said in a statement, “A joint force from the Police Emergency Regiment of the Nineveh Police Command, the Nineveh Intelligence and Counter-Terrorism Directorate in the Federal Intelligence and Investigations Agency in the Ministry of Interior arrested two ISIS members in Al-Maamoun neighborhood and its surroundings.
It added that one of the terrorists worked as fighter in the so-called “general camps” while the other worked in the so-called “Al-Hisbah” when ISIS controlled the city of Mosul.”
In 2017, Iraq declared final victory over ISIS after Iraqi forces drove its last remnants from the country, three years after the militant group captured about a third of Iraq’s territory.
Yet, ISIS still has sleeper cells in several Iraqi Governorates.
