Iraqi security arrests 3 ISIS terrorists in Baghdad, Anbar
The Iraqi Directorate of General Military Intelligence (DGMI) announced on Monday the arrest of three terrorists belonging to ISIS in Baghdad and Anbar governorates.
The DGMI mentioned in a statement that Iraqi security forces carried out security operations in Baghdad and the western governorate of Anbar after receiving intelligence information indicating that some ISIS elements exist in areas in these governorates, according to the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
The statement clarified that the suspects were working for the terrorist group ISIS, noting that they were handed over to the Iraqi judiciary.
Last week, the DGMI announced the arrest of 16 terrorists belonging to ISIS in different Iraqi governorates.
The Joint Operations Command announced in late November that Air Force fighter jets carried out strikes against a hideout of ISIS terrorists in a mountainous area in Tuz Khurmatu in Salah Al-Din governorate.
Iraq announced in late 2017 the liberation of all its territories from the grip of ISIS, but the authorities are constantly launching security operations to pursue remnants of the terrorist group that carry out attacks from time to time in the country.
