Iraqi forces start chasing Daesh elements in Diyala, Saladin

Iraq’s security authorities on Wednesday declared the commencement of a security operation at borders between Diyala and Saladin, north Iraq, in pursuit of Daesh terrorists.

Joint security forces began an operation from three axes, patrolling 11 kilometers in depth of Hawi al-Azeem area at Diyala-Saladin borders, the authorities said in a statement.

The operation focuses on three areas already bombed by Iraqi warplanes late on Tuesday, they added, with four militants reportedly killed.

Separately, an Iraqi security source in the province of Anbar said on Wednesday that two Daesh leading members had been arrested west Iraq.
