Iraqi forces bombard Islamic State hideout north of Baghdad
Security Media Cell (SMC) said on Thursday (May 19) the Iraqi Air Force bombarded an Islamic State (ISIS) hideout north of Baghdad.
The air force’s F-16s carried out two air strikes targeting a hideout used by three ISIS members following intelligence from the National Security Service, according to SMC, which added a security force has been dispatched to the area to investigate.
ISIS was defeated territorially in Iraq in 2017 but the militant group remains a potent threat in some parts of the country.
