Iranian president Rouhani: ISIS and Takfiri terrorism are the main threats for Islam
Daesh (ISIS) and the Takfiri terrorism are the biggest threats against Islam, said Iranian President Hassan Rouhani highlighting the role of religious authorities in introducing genuine Islamic culture.
‘Muslims should propagate Islam with morality and honesty,’ said President Rouhani on Tuesday in a meeting with leaders of the Muslim world in the US on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, according to official website of the Iranian president.
‘It is our duty to help the youth discover the real identity of Islam through correct behavior,’ he added.
The Iranian president went on to refer to the recent achievements in fighting terrorists, especially Daesh and al-Nusrah Front, adding, ‘Our goal is to fully restore Syria’s security, paving the way for refugees to return home.’
‘Crimes committed by Daesh are not limited to assassinating people, they ruin people’s belief in Islam,’ he reiterated.
Saying that Iran plays a prominent role in the elimination of terrorist groups in Syria, Rouhani stressed that the future of Syrians must be determined by themselves.
