At least 13 ISIS insurgents are captured in the western parts of Mosul
A group of 13 Islamic State (IS) extremists has been captured in western Mosul, a security spokesperson said on Wednesday.
“Troops of the Nineveh police managed to arrest a terrorist cell of the Islamic State, composed of thirteen militants,” the Security Media Center Brig. Gen. Saad Maan said, as quoted by Iraqi News.
He noted that the insurgents were previously wanted by the judiciary, adding that some of them worked for the group’s security and Hisbah (vigilantism) department, while the group was in control of Mosul.
According to the official, the militants were captured in the district of al-Intissar, west of the province.
