Instructions for deploying cyanide based chemical weapons on civilians found on Hamas terrorists
Further escalation appeared all but inevitable in the Middle East as the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs forwarded a classified memo to their embassies around the world detailing the contents of USBs found on Hamas terrorists. According to a report by Axios, corroborated by Israeli President Isaac Herzog in a recent interview, instructions on how to produce a “cyanide dispersion device” had been discovered and their origin was Al-Qaeda.
Two Israeli officials and their own review of a copy of the classified cable from the Israeli Foreign Ministry were cited in the report from Axios that noted the heading on the memo read, “Hamas intention of using chemical weapons.”
While the outlet indicated it could not independently verify the authenticity of the file that had been dispatched by the ministry’s weapons of mass destruction non-proliferation department, it was detailed that Israeli intelligence had sourced the document to an Al-Qaeda manual dated back to 2003.
“This finding points to an intention by Hamas to use chemical weapons as part of its terror attack against civilians,” the memo read of the information found on one of the terrorists responsible for the slaughter of more than 1,400 people on Oct. 7. The stated intent was “to conduct attacks in a similar way that ISIS tried to do.”
Speaking with Sky News in a new interview, Herzog asserted that the information found on the device stood as proof that the terrorists, whom he referred to as “sadistic villains,” had intended to use cyanide on civilians at some point.
“It’s Al Qaeda material. Official Al Qaeda material. We are dealing with ISIS, Al Qaeda and Hamas,” he explained to Sky News Middle East Correspondent Alistair Bunkall. “This is how shocking the situation is where we’re looking at the instructions that are given on how to operate and how to create a kind of non-professional chemical weapon with cyanide.”
Neither the cable nor Herzog’s statements were the first time that ISIS, a Sunni jihadist group self-identifying as a caliphate, had been invoked by Israel in the wake of the attacks as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had asserted in an address, “The atrocities carried out by Hamas have not been seen since the atrocities of ISIS.”
“Children bound and executed with the rest of their families, young girls and boys shot in the back, executed, and other atrocities that I will not describe here,” Netanyahu added of the horrific acts of evil, many of which had been recorded and broadcast on the internet.
Additionally, the Israel Defense Forces had shared images of ISIS flags reportedly found with Hamas and stated, “Hamas brought ISIS flags to massacre Israeli children, women and men. Hamas is a genocidal terrorist organization. Hamas is worse than ISIS.”
While the Israeli Foreign Ministry had declined to comment and a spokesperson for Hamas had not responded to Axiox’s request for comment, Herzog went on to tell Sky News, “Let’s just remember where we were, what happened, and how we have the right to defend ourself,” as concerns over the retaliatory response’s impact on humanitarian efforts were raised.
