Houthis of Yemen launched 40 ballistic missiles and over 320 drones on Israel; here’s how many were shot down by much-famed Iron Dome

The Israeli Air Force shot down three drones launched by the Houthi militias of Yemen. The Israeli Army confirmed that the drones were shot down on January 9. Iran-backed Houthi militias have targeted Israel in a massive way in recent days.

Among three drones which were shot from Yemen, only one successfully penetrated the Israeli region while two of them were shot down. The attacks took place just after data released by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) on missiles and drones shot from Yemen after the October 7 2023 attack on Israel.

Earlier, the IDF said that the Houthi militias launched 40 ballistic missiles and over 320 drones on Israel after October 7, 2023. The IDF said the Israeli air defense system, Iron Dome, prevented the majority of missiles amongst 40 ballistic missiles.

The Israeli Defense Forces said it recorded 32 drones launched from Yemen. Over 100 drones were shot down by the Israeli air defense system, fighter jets. Several drones were struck down by the Israeli Navy. As per IDF, only two drone attacks made its impact while many failed to reach Israeli soil.

In the beginning of this week, the IDF shot down a missile launched by the Houthi militias. The Houthis said that they were targeting Israel’s Orot Rabin power plant.
