Hezbollah official Sheikh Naim Qassem stresses close ties with the Palestinian resistance
Led by Hezbollah second-in-command, Sheikh Naim Qassem, the delegation expressed condolences over the death of former Islamic Jihad chief Ramadan Abdullah Shalah.
In the meeting, Sheikh Qassem underlined the importance of the deep ties between the two resistance groups.
Ramadan Abdullah who had been in coma for more than three years after heart surgery died last week.
It wasn’t said where he died, but he is believed to have been in Lebanon. Shalah, who was born in Gaza, had led Palestinian Islamic Jihad from 1995 until 2018 after the assassination of his predecessor, Fathi Shaqaqi.
Ziad al-Nakhala was chosen to lead the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement in 2018 because of Shalah’s illness.
