Hezbollah launches 250 missiles into Israel in largest attack in months

Six people were injured after the Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah launched a barrage of missiles into Israel in retaliation for deadly strikes in Beirut this weekend.

Hezbollah launched around 250 missiles into the Jewish nation on Sunday, and air sirens went off in areas as far from the Israel-Lebanon border as Tel Aviv. While the Israel Defense Forces shot down most of the rockets, injuries were reported in the areas of Petah Tikva, Haifa, and Kfar Blum. There were also impacts in Nahariya and Rinatya, a small village to the east of Tel Aviv.

The attack is one of the largest Hezbollah has conducted in months, and follows strikes by Israel in Beirut over the weekend, which Lebanese officials say killed 29 people and injured 65 others. It also comes after Israel killed a Lebanese army soldier and injured 18 others while targeting Hezbollah terrorists in the town of Al-Amiriya.

The IDF quickly apologized for that incident, saying, “The IDF regrets the incident and clarifies that it is fighting in a targeted manner against the Hezbollah terror organization, and not against the Lebanese Army.”

Also on Sunday, the IDF announced they engaged in attacks targeting Hezbollah “command centers” in the area of Dahieh, a suburb south of Beirut.

“12 Hezbollah command centers were struck by the IAF in Dahieh, Beirut, including sites used by Hezbollah’s Intelligence Unit, coast-to-sea missile unit, and Unit 4400 — responsible for smuggling weapons from Iran through Syria into Lebanon. These command centers were used to plan, command, and execute terrorist attacks against Israel and monitor terrorist activity against IDF troops operating in southern Lebanon,” the IDF posted to X.

While Israel and Hezbollah continue to exchange intense fire, CNN reported that a ceasefire deal between the two is “very close,” citing a regional source.
