Hezbollah delegation to discuss regional developments in Russia trip
A Lebanese parliamentarian who will head a delegation from Hezbollah resistance movement to Moscow said it will discuss regional developments with Russian officials.
MP Mohammad Raad said the relation between Hezbollah and Russia has been based on mutual interests and close viewpoints on regional issues, Sputnik reported.
He said the two sides had held talks on regional affairs in a trip by Hezbollah members to Moscow a few years ago and there is need now to exchange views on the future considering the new developments in the region.
The delegation will discuss the strategic cooperation between the resistance movement and Russia, Raad added.
During the four-day visit to Moscow, which will start on Monday, the Hezbollah delegation is scheduled to hold meetings with officials at the levels of the Foreign Ministry, Duma, and National Security Council.
Raad said the discussions in Moscow may tackle the creation of the new Lebanese government in the context of addressing Lebanon’s situation in general, hoping that Russia supports the efforts exerted to achieve this goal.
He reiterated Hezbollah calls for a speedy cabinet formation as a prerequisite of addressing the various aspects of the crisis in Lebanon.
