Terror organization: Hezbollah

Status: Senior commander in Radwan forces. For a time was the commander of the unit. Former commander of Badr unit (The unit is responsible for the southern region from the north of the Litani River to the city of Sidon).

Role: Abu Ali al Rida, born in 1964 in the town of Barish in the Tyre region of southern Lebanon. He received training in Iran and was an assistant to Ibrahim Aqil, the elite commander of the Radwan force and chief of operations of Hezbollah military apparatus. In the 1990s, al Rida survived an assassination attempt along with Aqil. Over the years, he served in several senior military positions in the organization and kept close working relations with Hezbollah’s leadership and with Iranian QF commanders.

Following the assassination of Ibrahim Aqil, Hezbollah experienced significant changes in its command structure. Al Rida was required to lead the Radwan Force during the October war, when several other commanders in the Radwan Force were assassinated along with Aqil.

For short time his second in command was Ali Mussa Daqduq, until he was eliminated earlier in 2024.

He was nicknamed for a while the “last survivor” of Hezbollah’s top command when he was the last one to survive elimination attempts during the last quarter of 2024.

There was no official statement about his death but in November, 2024 a video of Hezbollah’s exposed it. “Servants of the Righteous” page, which is the “Washing House of the Martyrs of the Islamic Resistance” exposed his death.
