Hamas leader and the Moroccan premier discuss Trump peace plan
Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh and Moroccan Prime Minister Saadeddine Othmani discussed the recently announced Middle East “peace” plan in a phone call on Tuesday.
Haniyeh and Othmani discussed the undesirable effects of the so-called “Deal of the Century,” a plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump to allegedly end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, one of the world’s longest-running disputes.
During the phone conversation, the two leaders also talked about how the plan violates the rights of the Palestinians.
The Hamas chief stressed the importance of Palestinians and other Arabs taking a united stance against the controversial plan.
The U.S. plan would unilaterally annul previous UN resolutions on the Palestinian issue and suggests giving Israel almost everything it has demanded.
On Monday, the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) unanimously rejected the American-Israeli deal, reiterating the need for a just and comprehensive solution that protects the rights of the Palestinians.
