Hajj Muhammad Afif Alnablasy

Terror organization: Hezbollah


Status: Hezbollah’s spokesman and head of media and relations unit.


Role: Muhammad Afif was a founding member of Hezbollah in Lebanon, and had been active in it since its inception in 1983.

According to Lebanese media outlets, Afif was a friend of former Hezbollah Secretary- General Abbas Mousawi.

Afif held the position of the party’s first media advisor, and according to Lebanese media, had served as its media relations officer since 2014. He had previously helped manage Hezbollah’s media coverage during the Second Lebanon War.

Afif previously hosted news and political programs on Hezbollah’s Al-Manar channel, as well as on Radio Nour and the Al-Ahed website, and was responsible for the media relations group in his role as media advisor to former Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah.

Afif outlined the messages conveyed in the Lebanese media, and ensured that terrorist acts against the citizens of the State of Israel and IDF forces were amplified and echoed, while working to strengthen Hezbollah’s image, improve the morale of the organization’s operatives, and promote psychological terrorism among the Israeli public.

He was eliminated in the area of Beirut by an air strike on October 17th, 2024.

Hezbollah defined Afif as the “Shahid and Jihadist commander”, title only the elite field commanders received.
