Gaziantep governor: ISIS terrorist detonated self at construction site to avoid harming neighbours
Following the death of an Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) suicide bomber in Turkey’s Gaziantep province on Sunday, the provincial governor told reporters that the suicide bomber had detonated himself at a construction site in order to not cause problems for the neighbors.
Gaziantep Governor Ali Yerlikaya had earlier referred to an ISIL terrorist as “Mister” only to correct himself in a few seconds.
Gaziantep hosts a large number of Syrian refugees due to its proximity to Syria and is thought to be a safe haven for radical Islamist terrorists. ISIL has targeted the province several times.
