Garmiyan court sentenced four ISIS terrorist group members to life in prison

The Criminal Court of Garmiyan in Kurdistan Region has sentenced four people to life in prison over their membership in the Islamic State (IS) and involvement in acts of terror.

Garmiyan Directorate of Security Affairs confirmed the sentences in an official statement, noting that another IS member was sentenced to 12 years in prison.

The convicts admitted to their involvement in multiple terrorist attacks by the Islamic State, according to the statement.

They are all Arab nationals from Qaratappa and Saadiya districts.
