Four Islamic State terrorists captured in Kirkuk
At least four members of the Islamic State (IS) were captured on Sunday in the disputed Kurdish province of Kirkuk, the Iraqi Security Media Cell said in a statement.
The statement explained that the four jihadists were arrested by the Iraqi intelligence service forces during an operation in Kirkuk.
The jihadists had carried out terrorist activities against the security forces during the operations to liberate Mosul city.
Although Iraq announced the militant group defeated in late 2017, the insurgent group’s sleeper cells are still active in most liberated areas, imposing threat to the national forces and civilians.
