Four Daesh Militants Killed In Iraq
Iraq announced Thursday that four militants of the so-called Islamic State (ISIS), known as Daesh, had been killed in a military operation in Kirkuk, northern Iraq.
The operation resulted in the destruction of a large guesthouse containing mobile headquarters, underground rooms and three firing positions, and the seizure of weapons, equipment and documents.
In a statement, the Security Media Cell of the Iraqi Joint Operations Command stated that Iraqi planes bombed sites of ISIS militants in Wadi Al-Shay in Kirkuk Governorate.
The bodies of four ISIS militants were found, one of which was rigged with explosives and was detonated in the field, in addition to the detonation of four explosive devices and the discovery of three solar energy reflectors, and RPG7 launcher.
In 2017, Iraq declared victory over the so-called ISIS by recovering all of its lands, which were estimated at about a third of the country’s area, which was invaded by the organization in the summer of 2014. (end)
