Iraqi army forces capture the city of Rawa the last ISIS stronghold in Iraq
The operation launched by the Iraqi army one week ago to take the Rawa town and surroundings from ISIS has been finalized with the capture of the town center from ISIS on Friday.
The Iraqi Conflict Press Center had issued a written statement in the morning and announced that the Iraqi army has launched an operation to take the Rawa town center from ISIS.
Iraqi army official commanding the operation, Abdulemir Rashid Yarellah announced in a written statement that the town centre has been taken from ISIS in the campaign dubbed “Operation North of Euphrates and Cizire”.
Speaking to the Iraqi press, Minister of Defense Qasim al-Araji stated that with the capture of Rawa, the presence of ISIS in Iraq has been ended militarily.
