Five Islamic State terrorists captured in Nineveh
At least five members of the Islamic State (IS) were captured on Tuesday in the Iraqi province of Nineveh.
Spokesperson for the Iraqi Ministry of Interior Maj. Gen. Saad Maan said in a statement that the jihadists were arrested in the neighborhood of North Garage in the eastern side of Mosul, as cited by Dijlah TV.
He added that four of the insurgents were members of the IS group’s Diwan al-Jund, which is the militants department.
Although the IS was declared defeated in late 2017, the extremist group’s sleeper cells are still active in most of the liberated areas in the country.
