Group of militants attempt to seize Libya’s country petroleum with a plan to financially support terrorist activities
Libya’s military spokesman, Ahmed al-Mesmari, claimed his country’s forces pounded convoys of militants who attacked the Oil Crescent area. He stressed that the army expects the Libyan people to stand up against attempts by terrorist groups to take over the country’s petroleum.
The Libyan military spokesman, during an interview Wednesday evening, noted that the Libyan armed forces foiled an attempt to takeover petroleum intended to fund armies and terrorist operations in other countries. Al-Mesmari asserted that a strong financial base is being used by al-Qaeda to finance terrorist operations in Afghanistan, Egypt, Europe and {Libya’s} neighboring countries.
