Fatah Sharif Abu Al-Amin
Terror organization: Hamas
Status: Commander of the Hamas movement in Lebanon as well as a member of the movement abroad.
Role: He was also the chairman of UNRA’s teachers’ association and the director of UNRA’s Deir Yassin school in Lebanon.
In addition to being the commander of the Hamas movement in Lebanon, Fatah Sharif was the chairman of the UNRWA Teachers’ Association in Lebanon. In March 2024, UNRA in Lebanon announced his suspension from his position as a teacher on behalf of the agency, following what was described as a “violation of the procedures” of the agency, after he praised the October 7 massacre. He was suspended for three months. Following his suspension, a demonstration was held by dozens of activists against the decision, in front of the offices of UNRWA in Beirut, and following pressure from Islamic organizations he was reinstated.
According to the IDF spokesman: “Sharif was entrusted with the coordination of the activities of Hamas from Lebanon against Hezbollah elements, and was also responsible for the organization’s strengthening efforts in Lebanon in the field of recruiting operatives and purchasing weapons. Sharif led the efforts to build Hamas’ power in Lebanon and worked to advance Hamas’ interests in the arena, both politically and militarily.”
The South Lebanon District is the main area of activity for the Hamas branch in South Lebanon, and its operatives are responsible for most of the shootings in Nahariya and Kariya from there.
Location: Syria/Lebanon.
