US mum enslaved by ISIS fears she’ll never be allowed home after her son was forced to be part of jihad propaganda film
Sam El Hassani claims she and her two children were taken to Raqqa by her husband Mousse and that one of her kids appeared in an ISIS propaganda video.
An American woman who lived with ISIS in Syria for two years claims she was taken to Raqqa by her husband.
Sam El Hassani, from Indiana, says one of her children even appeared in a propaganda video by the extremists where he denounces Donald Trump and says ‘ISIS is going to end your land’.
Speaking to PBS, Sam said her husband Mousse took the family to Turkey in 2015 calling it a holiday but then he forced them over the border and joined ISIS – ending up in Raqqa.
Mousse became a fighter for Islamic State, also known as ISIS , and was killed by US-backed Kurdish forces in autumn last year.
Sam remains in northern Syria with her two children and is being held by Kurdish forces.
She said: “What’s going to happen whenever they go back to the US?
“Will the government try to take my kids away from me, when I have done nothing but try to protect them, when here they give them school, they give them food, they give them everything? I will go there, I’m broke. I have nothing.”
The mum-of-two is scared that American immigration will think her son is a terrorist after starring in the propaganda video.
In the video Matthew says: “My measure to Trump, the puppet of the Jews, Allah has promised us victory and he has promised you defeat.
“Islam is not going to end in Raqqa or Mosul. It is going to end in your land.
“By the will of Allah, we will have victory. So get ready, for the fighting has just begun.”
But mum Sam said: “It’s propaganda. But how can you convince somebody that sees something like that? I don’t know.”
Sam’s sister, Lori, in Indiana says she is trying to get the US government to intervene and bring Sam and her children back home
She said: “Should people be punished for going to Syria and doing what they’re doing? Absolutely. But should we abandon them over there? No.
“I am hopeful that they will be able to come home.
“I am aware that Sam will most likely go to prison, but, eventually, after rehabilitation, I’m hoping the kids will come here and live with me.”
