Israeli Arab sentenced for plotting to attack the U.S embassy after its relocation to Jerusalem
Terrorist inspired by ISIS plotted to bomb US embassy after its relocation to Jerusalem.
The Haifa District Court on Monday sentenced Yussuf Bin Muhammad Agbaria, 22, from the village of Mushrifah in the Galilee, to two years in prison, a nine-month suspended sentence and a NIS 10,000 ($2,840) fine for plotting to carry out an attack at the US embassy its relocation to Jerusalem.
Agbaria’s sentence was determined after he confessed and was convicted as part of a plea bargain.
According to the indictment, Agbaria developed an increasing interest in the ISIS terrorist organization and its activities, and developed an ideological identification with the organization’s activities, values and goals.
In addition, he planned, in light of the intention of the Trump administration to transfer the US Embassy to Jerusalem to carry out an attack at the embassy, after it was transferred to Jerusalem, using an explosive device and Molotov cocktails.
