Eight Islamic State terrorists escape Syrian jail guarded by Turkey-backed groups
At least eight Islamic State (IS) prisoners managed to escape from a jail guarded by the Turkey-backed Syrian islamist groups, a war monitor said.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) cited “reliable” sources as reporting that the jihadist prisoners “mysteriously” broke out from a prison belonging to Turkey-backed “al-Hamza Division” in northeast of Aleppo.
The monitor group noted that the prisons belonging to the Ankara-backed groups in Aleppo “had previously seen similar incidents of prisoners from the Islamic State had flee, where they managed later to move to Libya and fight alongside Libya’s ‘Government of National Accord’.”
No further details on the escape was mentioned in the report.
